Complacent Middle Class of South Asia

The situation in the south of our Asia has always been plagued with the issues concerning poverty, misadministration, corruption, illiteracy and lot more, which eventually has led to the creation of a huge disparity amongst the society that we see all around. Most commoners are made to live a life full of difficulties. Every day seems like a task. The Subcontinent is home to a billion plus population...our lands have got invaded by lots and were ruled by dynasties which made the region and its people to adopt various faiths and exposed them to vivid cultures. It was but obvious for the government of any nation from such a region to adopt a plural constitution. India was the only country which became a secular nation. Its people nurtured the virtue of being a plural society, but soon after the independence the entire nation of ours and neighbouring states were gripped by Selfish and Non Worthy Administrators. The opportunist got an easy entry into the democratic setup. We the masses selected feeble people to lead us, who misled us by creating communal tensions with no adequate development. Our country continues to remain an underdeveloped nation. It is appalling to see most are deprived of basic livelihoods.

Fortunately, the selfish politicians could not stop the existing middle class from creating a better lifestyle on their own. The Politicians soon became less popular amongst a huge hardworking but largely complacent middle class and thus the politicians tuned their agendas to the easily provoked, less privileged class of the society, the poorer, and the uneducated ones. They showed them the moon and misled them by igniting communalism. It was one potent weapon to divide the society. Thus 'Terrorism' was born.

The US - Russia Cold war led further encouragement and gave terror its teeth and excuse for culling innocent lives. The society has come to a brink now where a lot of hatred is brewing amongst most over one thing or another. Too many Flash points have come forth. Arab world hates Jews, Hindus, and Christians. It is very important to realize that it is always the ignorant who seeks the avenge and it is for the matured one to understand the shortcomings and not let the situation escalate into something regretting.

India fortunately is not a Hindu state. It is a living example of multi- cultural society. Most Indians regard the society's fabric a virtue of its own. Hinduism is not a religion; it is a way of life. It is something most Indians should realize. The majority middle class should become more vigilant now. The underprivileged can be easily misled, because they never learnt the history through education.

The Middle class owes a humongous responsibility in the present scheme of things. We all should register votes, elect able leaders. Unfortunately our constitution allows a contestant to pose a win in the election even if he/she has secured just 33% votes. Every vote has its own importance. We should compel our leaders to give impetus to education, better infrastructure schemes and projects to be taken into their manifestos. The youth should attach itself to various NGOs who work for such causes. We should believe in democracy, choose leaders and help them wage war against illiteracy, poverty and it will in a way ensure elimination of issues which plague peace and development of our society and the nation on a whole.
